Michelia Inspiration is a large bushy shrub or small tree with a dense growth habit. Shiny, dark-green leaves. Velvet-brown buds open to porcelain-white, star-shaped flowers in mid-Spring which are delightfully perfumed.

Adaptable to either sun or partial shade, is of handling varying soil types that are well drained. Provide moisture during Summer or periods of prolonged drought. Reasonably frost tolerant once established. Responds well to hard pruning to shape and size in late Spring. Supplementary feed with a slow release fertiliser for trees and shrubs.

An ideal plant as a specimen or used in the middle to back of a shrub border. Can also be used a container plant. An excellent plant for commercial use.

NZ bred hybrid producing a pillar shaped small tree. Ivory-white blooms with a light scent are produced in profusion from mid-spring to early summer. Furry, rusty-brown bud caps are a delight.

A broadly columnar shrub. A very free flowering plant bearing creamy white scented flowers often with a pink tinge, in mid-late Spring with the odd flower produced in late Summer. Can become semi-deciduous in very cold areas where temperatures drop to as low as -8 degrees C.

A small compact bushy shrub with smallish dark green leaves with a quite tomentose underside to the leaf and flower buds. Leaves have a wavy like appearance. A free flowering plant bearing creamy white scented flowers, a high percentage of which are semi-double in mid-late to late Spring.
